Someone posted a dub of the power rangers intro song with the trailer, it was awesome.

*Watches Power Rangers version*

....GOD DAMMIT! Now I'm disappointed in this film for not being friggin' Power Rangers. I loved that series as a kid. So many giant monsters.

Also...dat trailer in 1080p. Gorgeous. It's about time we get more giant robots beating things that isn't Transformers. I love the Transformer films (au contraire to the rest of the world it would seem), but this is a whole other scale. I want more giant things like this.

Edit: On a side note...how would everyone feel if there was a reboot of the Power Rangers series? Just one movie, that was all dark and brutal and all kinds of not for kids....that's be awesome.

I've been heard all bad things from it. I'm going to see it tomorrow, so I'll fill everyone in tomorrow night if I remember.

Really? I've been hearing some pretty good things about it, but I've been avoiding spoilers like the plague.

Same here. Not to mention critic are giving it some surprisingly decent reviews (Especially considering how they all treated the Transformers films).

I've heard bad things from IGN, Metacritic (both professional and user reviews) and some other youtube video reviews.

Just got back from seeing it. Thought it was friggin awesome. Definitely recommend seeing it.

That's why I hardly ever pay attention to those kind of websites. The only critic I ever really listened to was Roger Ebert, and very rarely would we disagree on films. But now he's dead, and everyone seems to dislike the stuff I like. So I go by judging whether the trailer has something that will make me go "Judas Priest!" when seen in my entire view and loud sound system.

High-five for Ebert, was so sad to hear about his passing.

He was pretty cool guy, and even put 'End of Watch' in his top ten movies of 2012, a film I think is possibly the best one I've ever seen. At the very least, it's the best movie involving cops to ever grace my eyeballs.

Should be seeing Pacific Rim next week, along with Man of Steel, which I'm slightly less enthusiastic to see, but I've been told it's the closest we'll ever get to a decent Dragonball Z film...and I thought the DBZ film a few years ago was kinda cool. If not good.

I heard the one thing Man of Steel got completely right was showcasing Superman's power. Not to say it's terrible, I heard it's just okay at best from a lot of people.

Yeah, to hell with the critics, it was fucking awesome. Everything I hoped for and more, fair bit more to it than just the fight scenes (which were incredible, and thankfully not much shaky camera so you could actually see what was happening). Reaper, you're going to adore it, I think. Just stay through the first part of the credits, there's a short scene after.

Went and saw it last night. Absolutely amazing. I was kind of annoyed that a lot of the fights were during the night, but they still looked great. I was surprised that it takes place about fifteen years after the fact, instead of in the beginning...or it only taking place over the course of one year. Still, good film. Pity NZ didn't have their own Jaeger.

Apparently there was a good deal cut, like Mexico's Jaeger, so hoping for a director's cut. Also, someone theorized that it's harder to capture night scenes on bootleg and that's why so many fights were at night. Either way, looking for someone to go with so I have an excuse to see it a third time.

Dammit. All I can think about now is a giant mecha wearing a sombrero.

Go by yourself?

Beating up kaiju with giant maracas would be wonderful.

Rob a bank. Steal millions of dollars. Go to town with Pacific Rim. See it in every theatre everywhere. It'd be top.

Pro-tip, don't actually. You'd get jailed before you could see the movie. But it was a good idea.
