It's weird though, because I've thought that this entire time and I'm sure I heard it somewhere. Oh well.

Maybe it does mean "Teacher" in Spanish and just means something else in Latin. Different languages often have similar words with two completely different meanings (For example, in Hebrew the word "he" means "she" and the word "who" means "he"). We could all be right.

Well, that or it's got no connection to Spanish at all, and you're off your rocker. But hey, who ever needed a rocker anyway?

I do seem to recall some connection between Praetor and Teacher, however. Maybe someone in the crew had mentioned it at some point.

Maybe it has common roots with another word, or it doesn't mean teacher per se, but rather something related to teaching. Military commanders, afterall, often try to impart knowledge upon those under their command, and civilian administrators do need to educate their supporters on what their political opponents are doing behind closed doors.

Or maybe it's not Spanish you're thinking of, but Czech, or Swahili, or Korean....we've got a lot of languages to chose from. I'm sure some language has it somewhere.

Anybody on the production team speak Quechua?

Quechua? It's the Incan language, spoken throughout South America.
