Hehehe...

Jesus Christ. I thought the ending of Fallout 3 was shithouse. But people are just going batshit insane about ME3. It's ridiculous. Not only that, but I've played games with much worse endings. Hell, there wasn't even this much flack at the end of Halo 2, which wasn't even an ending, just a game cut midway through.

Yeah. People like to over react when they can (or peer pressure. Oh you don't like the ending? Well then I don't like it too. And then their friends don't like it and blah blah gets spread around the internet.)

Honestly, I think this all got started by some spoiled whiny children who can't understand it's just a video game.

It got started because Bioware decided to finish off a great series with some hastily written piece of garbage.

Halo 2 didn't get this much crap because Halo 2 wasn't part of a franchise which dictates player choice altering the storyline of future games.

"We know you played through all of these games and you're expecting some cool unique endings, but we just lied so here, take these endings. They're not very good but we're going to add them in anyway. You can get a better ending when we release the $15 DLC."

Because for all intents and purposes, Mass Effect 3 is a defective product that doesn't deliver what it promised to. Am I allowed to say that? The ending is defective. It doesn't preform the task that it was supposed to. And its also just plain insulting to be told to download DLC after being given such a crappy, lazy, phoned in, cookie cutter, nonsensical ending.

Some other problems I had with ME3:

Why the hell does Harbinger have no dialogue? For Christ's sake his voice is so awesome.

Why the hell is Shepard so affected by the stupid kid that dies. A friend of mine pointed this out to me: Shepard has seen some shit. Within the first ten minutes of the series Jenkins dies, colonists are murdered by evil robots from the edges of space, DRAGONS TEETH (How the hell did that not make it into his nightmares? It made it into mine.), and he gets his mind raped by an apocalyptic prediction of the future. Later on, he has to choose to let one of his squamates die! In the second game, he gets SPACED. Sure he is brought back to life but he has already experienced the horror of dying once. I imagine that's in his memories. He witnesses the collectors LIQUIFYING people, and fights a Human Reaper.

Yet this one random kid is what's bothering him? Why isn't he dreaming about the person he lost on Virmire. Would have had more power.

yeah i thought the dream stuff was weird and felt very out of place. I know for a fact that they said they tried to make ME3 a more human experience but... don't think that was the best approach.

Maybe the kid represents what Shepard is losing on Earth while he takes his time gathering the forces, and he just keeps dreaming about him because he knows so many families are dying on Earth.

And speaking of Vermire, I met Captain Kirrahe in the demo on Wrex's mission, but I didn't see him at all in the full game.

The second demo mission is only one possible setup depending on who you saved or got killed in the last two games. Garrus and Mordin could've died in ME2, as could Wrex in ME1, but they're there too.

Well, I saved everyone that I didn't have to kill O.o. I even took the force off of Kirrahe's team so that way they could live.

It depends on where you go for the final bit.

Kirrahe's team is at the AA tower. To save them, you have to go to the AA tower.

Fun thing to do in Multiplayer:

Step 1: Be Vanguard
Step 2: Play Michael Jackson - Beat It
Step 3: Have fun

First replay as a new (Unimported) black male, who looks as gangsta as ever as Vanguard. I was half afraid when I read the powers list and didn't see Charge, but they kept it in. Best attack ever. *Locks onto enemy a mile away, taps Y. Flies across map with massive blue bioticness behind me and kick enemy in the bollocks.* I also liked how the heavy melee is a biotic falcon punch instead of the omni-blade. That'd be interesting to see how you kill Kai Lang with...

Never thought of that lol.

But yeah. Charge + Nova = best move EVER. I feel so boss when I do it.

Also, I'll just leave this Here. The whole Illusive man's way was Paragon, and destroying the Reapers was Renegade really grabbed my attention. I think Bioware was just testing us to see how we would react to the ending. Plus Bioware said that they weren't going to talk about story related content till everyone beat ME3, so they obviously still have something up their sleeve.

I've probably read about a novel's worth of online material pertaining to the ending and various theories floating around out there. Check out the "indoctrination theory" if you haven't already, there's a lot of talk around it and I find it interesting, makes the whole thing a little easier to digest at least.

oh I just clicked on your youtube link. derp.

Using a brand new from-scratch character in this game is a crime.

If you're not going to import a character from ME2 which was imported from a character in ME1 don't even bother playing this.

Yeah. But you know gamers these days. Or maybe people actually don't start with ME3 like game companies say.

Has anyone who's watched Babylon 5 noticed the similarities in plotline between that show and Mass Effect?

1) Warnings of incoming invasion and possible end of universe

Mass Effect 1 by Shepard, Babylon 5 Season 1 by G'Kar

2) Invading aliens that annihilate life in the galaxy other than the younger less evolved races so that the cycle can continue thousands of years later

Mass Effect - Reapers: synthetic living ships, synthetically-infused organic troops
Babylon 5 - Shadows: organic living ships and units

3) Order vs. chaos
Mass Effect - synthetics vs. organics
Babylon 5 - Vorlons vs. Shadows

4) Central location for all races to coexist, communicate and have political meetings and negotiations

Mass Effect - The Citadel
Babylon 5 - Babylon 5

5) Primary hero to play in the defeat of the invading forces

Mass Effect - John (default) Shepard
Babylon 5 - John Sheridan

6) Death and later resurrection of hero

Mass Effect - Start of Part 2
Babylon 5 - Season 3 Finale (for the death) and beginning of Season 4 for rebirth.

7) Full invasion of big scary life-destroying aliens

Mass Effect - Part 3
Babylon 5 - Season 4

8) Uniting of all alien races against the invading forces by hero, otherwise total defeat assured

See #7.

Even when you go into the finer details for how the reapers work with indoctrinating key figures, the shadows in Babylon 5 did (via alien parasite that takes over higher brain functions) to a degree. And the uniting of the races to take on the invading forces is nigh-on identical.
