So I heard about this a while back, thought it sounded interesting, and I love Sean Bean. Never saw it when it premiered due to college, but I just watched the first two episodes On Demand. Holy crap.

One of the producers described it as "The Sopranos in Middle Earth." That's about accurate, it's a medieval drama of manipulation, sex, bloodshed, and various combinations of those three. Now generally I'm not a fan of this type of political/sexual gossipy drama stuff, but I find myself wanting to watch more. Like I said in the topic description, it's now my official guilty pleasure.

Also it's based on a book series, my dad is giving me the first one this weekend, he said it's fantastic.

Peter Dinklage just won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for this as Tyrion. He deserves it, especially in the second half of the season, he's like the best part of the show. Actress that plays the girl with the white hair should have been nominated, too.

Ah, Tyrion. Personally, my favourite character was Margaret. She was all 'try and kill my son? Die you shall!'. That, or Drogo, namely for how brutal he was. Like that time he ripped a dudes tongue out through his slit throat.

I started really liking Drogo after his war speech about getting the iron throne for his son, but the tongue-ripping scene sealed the deal for me. So damn epic.

I was really annoyed with what happened to him. I looked online and found out most of my favourite characters die, or do nothing until later books. Wtf?

So a friend who put me onto the series bought me the first four books for christmas. The first book I tried reading a few years ago, and couldn't stand it. Now? I'm midway through the third, have the fifth sitting in a air-tight sealed compartment in the corner of my room on display, and two more compartments that will be completed five years after each other since the last two books will probably be a decade away. Bad news? We won't see any more of the Others until the third season if they go through the books properly. But the end of the second season, there will be an entire episode in which we see many, many boats, and an entire river burn. Assuming it doesn't suffer from budget rape and have Tyrion get knocked out only to wake up after the battle again.

And also? The cold winds. They are rising. I prefer 'Winter is Coming', although Stannis does say it a few times in the books.

At this point, the show's being made twice as fast as the books. Gonna be a wait when the show has to hold on for Martin to catch up. And the guy's not young, hope he manages to finish them before he dies or something.

Kinda sucks about the Others, really interested in what they're all about.

Yeah, I was annoyed at that too. See them once at the beginning of season. Not mentioned again...

Although from the way the books are going, and the way all the kings and such are ignoring the Wall, either the others are going to appear in massses in the last two books, forcing everyone to go "Oh, pretentious politics? I may have to put this aside to deal with this bigger problem.".....or Martin will not have the Others do much. Five books....two appearances by one. Two books apart.

So, new season started tonight. At this point, I don't care who does it, could be his own mother for all I care, but someone needs to bash Joffery's face in. Hard.

All I'm sayin'....Third season. Third season, brah.

Even though I think he's the biggest twat since Satan, I do love Joffery's character. There are not enough characters in anything that evoke such a pure hatred. Which is why I love this show. There are no good guys, and no bad guys. Just people with their own motives. And it's up to the viewer (And reader, with the books and all) to like and dislike each character with their own reasons. Except Tyrion. I don't know a single person who dislikes him at all.

Tyrion's green fire explosion thing tonight was probably the greatest thing that's happened this whole show so far.

I dunno, I don't think anything will ever top Drogo ripping out a dudes tongue through his slit-open throat. But it was one of the most epic things so far.

Loving this show. And as much as I love the Wall and Beyond scenes, I'm somewhat glad it wasn't very prominent in this season simply because not much happed in CotK. Still...I love this series so much. The only thing I love more than GoT is Dexter. Also,

TYRION WITH AN AXE FTW!

Oh I am too. Great ending, helluva way to end the season. My first thought right at the end was that everyone south of the Wall playing their petty little games have no idea how assf*cked they're gonna be.

The thing is, over the course of the series, by the end of the fifth book (Probably sixth season) about three or so years have passed. But yeah, sooner or later, that Wall shall come down. And when it does, the South will fall so incredibly hard.

Jesus, what they hell? They've been saying winter is coming since the first episode, I wanna see some White Walkers pwning people and putting their petty political horseshit into perspective. D:

Well, winter is coming.

But srsly, winter takes ages to arrive in the series. Summers can last for decades sometimes, and winter can last for just as long. Remember those speeches the head-ish guys from the Nights Watch kept talking about? That. By fourth book.
