I can tell you that they don't use it for a portion of it. That little trick where you press the Down Arrow Key to lower the weapon doesn't work on Live. Only on System Link, to my knowledge.

you can still lower your weapon on live by pressing and holding the left triogger while you have no grenades.

We currently do all filming over a LAN.

When you do the epic-war scenes, will you need extras? If so, you could get a ton of extras via xbox live, and do the voice overs on live with the xbox communicator.

Bad idea. Voice from peoples xbox live headsets, over xbox live, has pretty bad quality, not good for recording, mainly why I hate that other machinima (Can't remember the name) where they do all of it through live.

Well nevermind then, but It'd still be easier to get a room of 8-16 people for the larger scenes.. unless they do it the slightly harder way of editing it to make it seem like there's more people.

I will: we don't have 16 players at every LAN. Generally, we only have the four people listed on the Contacts page, (Ryan, Meghan, Patrick and myself), although we sometimes have other people over for the big battle scenes. Those three have gotten very good at controlling multiple people at once, though!

Most Machima just cut out all sound then add in their own.

Yes, but this can still cause problems in terms of quality, because not all of the people have the same equipment to record their voices with, which can be very noticable at times.

well if it was during a battle... and those spartans are using a radio, that's a reason for staticy sound quality... but it doesn't matter.

Who's to sayit would matter that much? You'd still have the effect like that in the game (halo2)

although it does get annoying at times and i usually want to be close to sarge or whoever so i'll hear him in his normal non-static voice but as far as the series goes i'm all for it.

I"ll be a stunt double, I'll be content just to get mentioned, like,

Thanks to all of our faithful fans, heres a list that no one reads of the internet aliases that we know them by

and my name would be on that list

I could just be some elite that runs in and gets exploaded, or a spartan that shoots a rocket

Actually you could do that as a constant thing that the chief does throughout the episodes!
