So the CIA has essentially stuck a U.S citizen on their hit list, with the approval of the President of course. The mans name is Alwaki. He's a traitor and currently conducting military operations against the U.S. He is connected to the Fort Hood Massacre and the Christmas Day (attempted) Bombing.

I personally say "Good hunting". I don't think his citizenship should be a shield when he's overseas and actively operating against the U.S. The President has been very fond of straight up assassination when it comes to terrorist kingpins, while his predecessor focused more heavily on live capture. (I personally feel the latter is smarter, not that I mind dead terrorists...its just that dead men tell no tales.)

What I really would like to see is what Obama supporters think, specifically those who thought Bush was out of control when it came to anti-terror policies. Let me know what you think below.

Well, I'm against the torture of prisoners of any kind, be them terrorist or otherwise. I also think that it is always better to capture the bad guys alive. That said, assassinating people that are working to harm and kill innocent civilians is fine by me. It's when you torture them first that it becomes wrong.

So to clarify that. You feel its alright to kill a terrorist, but you don't feel its appropriate to say, waterboard a terrorist.

If the terrorist has already been captured alive, then no, torture is wrong. Interrogate him, sure, but don't torture him. However, if he cannot be taken alive for whatever reason, then I find it perfectly acceptable to kill him. As I said, I think it is better to capture the terrorist if possible.

Pff, ten thousand posts...if only I could care about such a thing. For caring about ones' post count is as vain as a vein wanting to pump sterling silver through the body for its own lulz. And we all know how Lulz affects the world. Just look at World War 2. Did you all honestly think Hitler tried to exterminate the Jews because he wanted to crate a master race that even he looked nothing like? I SAY BALLS TO THAT! BALLS TO ALL OF THAT! Balls to so mucyh of that, that this pretentious post has nothing whatsoever in the effects of the global war economy. That's right, I f**king said it, and not when referencing MGS4. Imaginitive ten thousand post mark? I think not....

And also, I demand everyone on the forum to sig-quote that. All of you. Especially you, Geo. You British guy you.

I'm totally all for torture and the 'YES!" go ahead of assassinations. But that could be my sadistic tendencies coming up.

Personally, as long as there is evidence that allows it, I have no problem with someone being tortured. But also remember, that torture covers an incredibly broad spectrum. From jamming rusty-ass nails down peoples fingernails, to simply lying to them that they're car has been crushed.

The intelligence gathered from physical torture isn't guaranteed to be true. If a person simply does not know the information, they will make something up to make satisfy the captors and end the session; but bad intel can sometimes be better than no intel.

You're in the army (Or Airforce, can never remember)! You should know it's better to not have intel then have intel and bomb a civilian hospital because of bad intel.

Well that is precisely the reason why you could hardly call our standard procedure "torture". You know, I was actually pretty upset when the President released the Advanced Interrogation Memos. I still think Obama is doing everything he possibly can to damage America's capacity to defend itself. (recently this nuke treaty) However, if there's anything good that came out of revealing our secrets to the enemy, is that once and for all the myth that the American military has some sort of torture fetish was dispelled. Some of the stuff that was used I've seen done to other kids in high school. Hell, if I'm captured by the enemy I hope all they do is play loud music in my cell.

Didn't Patton say something similar. Dying too often on CoD makes me a history buff.
