I am new here, and I don't feel like searching the whole site, so this might have been posted before, but i would still like to know

why can't we just watch the movies online instead of having to download them to watch them?
Downloading them takes forever, and it would be alot easier to just watch them online, sort of like what roosterteeth does for red vs blue

I still don't see how downloading is a hassle compared to streaming. You're still downloading the same info, you just save a few minutes by watching it as you download... surely your life is not that busy. But anyway, youtube does have all the vids available to stream, to suit the hustle and bustle of your eventful life.

Yes, i know it only takes a few minutes, but right now, i am out of state on a hotel computer, and i dont think they would appreciate me downloading a bunch of crap onto their computer, so...
and youtube has crappy graphics
any other way? preferably which doesnt involve downloading or crappy graphics?

if you look around a few video hosting sites I'm sure you can find it. Machinima.com, dailymotion.com, and maybe some other ones?

The solution is, as these guys have suggested, watching it on a mirror site like YouTube. Or you can just download the files, watch them, and then delete them off the hotel computer. Or, better yet, leave them on the hotel computer and help us advertise! wink.gif

But the answer to your question, the actual reason we set up the site that way, is that on the day of the release of a new episode, we would get so much traffic in the first moments that streaming would slow to a halt for some people. This way, our server would send people the videos and they could watch them on their own time, without waiting for it to buffer and then re-buffer and then re-buffer. RoosterTeeth has their own servers, so they can upgrade them to meet the demand, but we're already using TWO of the highest hosting plans our company provides, so we needed a way to regulate the traffic in those first few post-release hours.
